Leon was created in Velland, Ontario, near the US border in the Niagara region. Was built Ablan Leon, a Lebanese immigrant who started out as a sales door to door. Being able to open stores with profits in 1909. The original store was a dry goods outlets, which are then converted in the sale of furniture.
The company moved to the Toronto area in the next decade, took several approaches established in the city, and then come down to the name of Leon. The company went public in 1969 and opened the first showroom of mining in 1973, touting it as the only one in Canada.
Today, roughly half of the more than 50 shops owned by corporate, while the rest, especially in rural areas or in cities with a population below, owned by franchisees. There are two stores in Arizona short mid-1990s.
